We Were Named
Chapter of the Year
CoreCoreNet Global – Houston Chapter was named the 2015 Chapter of the Year in the small/medium category at the CoreNet Global Summit North America. Dean Strombom, CoreNet Houston president, and Dawn Landry, CoreNet Houston president-elect, accepted the award on behalf of the Chapter during the CoreNet Global Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner held in Los Angeles on October 20, 2015.
“We are honored to be recognized by CoreNet Global,” said Dean Strombom, CoreNet Houston president. “The award validates our ongoing efforts to be the premier corporate real estate organization in Houston, providing our members with excellent, timely programs, professional development and networking opportunities and elevating the status of our profession in the community.”
With 46 chapters and networking groups worldwide, CoreNet Global recognizes twochapters annually (one small/medium and one large/mega chapter) for raising the profile of corporate real estate and recognizing the profession’s contributions to enterprise success. The Dallas-based Southwest Chapter took home the large/mega chapter award, making it a clean sweep for Texas. CoreNet Global recognizes the chapter that excelled in four keyareas:
- Membership recruitment and retention strategies
- Delivery of value proposition
- Delivery of innovative programming
- Alignment with CoreNet Global’s Strategic Plan
We are proud to support
New Hope Housing!
its inception, New Hope Housing has been recognized as the model for
safe, affordable, debt-free single room occupancy (SRO) housing in the
State of Texas. Owning and managing now almost 1,000 units of
SRO housing, which serves adults living singly, New Hope
its mission to serve homeless and at-risk families, most typically
single mothers. The organization is in pre-development to construct 187
units of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments with more than 6,000
shared spaces for critical onsite support services. This new community
is to be located adjacent to an emergency services
campus off Highway
288 and Reed Road.
Hope is grateful for CoreNet's long-standing allegiance to its Housing
Services mission and for helping serve our city's most
vulnerable. Through their annual golf tournament, CoreNet
Houston has enjoyed a 12-year giving relationship with New Hope
Housing, with donations to date totaling $431,300.
Global Houston Chapter donated $36,000 to the local charity New Hope
Housing. The check was presented at our March 24th meeting.
